THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 10–SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 13
The Girl Scout Leadership Institute brings together 1,200 girls who are recognized as leaders in their councils to connect and take action on matters that touch the future for girls and for our movement.
This year’s theme -- Leadership and Innovation, the Next 100 Years -- will stimulate the girls to think big. Smartly designed interactive sessions will make the most of their time together. Focus areas include:
- Global Connections
- Innovation in Marketing
- Innovation in Business
- Innovation in Technology and Science
GSLI will run in parallel with the National Council Sessions from Thursday to Sunday. The girls will attend opening and closing ceremonies and participate in the Conversations of Consequence. They will also play a leading role in launching our 100th Anniversary Take Action project: Girl Scouts Forever Green.
At this time, the slots for the council’s GSLI group is closed. GSLI is being opened in three phases and Phase 2 was just completed. Phases 1 and 2 were only for the councils to select the girls to represent them.
Phase 3 is scheduled for September. At that time if there are any remaining slots not taken by any of the 112 councils across the United States (the number of total registrants is limited), they will be opened up to any girl to attend at her expense. At that time there will also be slots available for individual sessions. But again, we will not know what may be available until September or when Phase 3 officially opens.
Regarding any other registration category for your daughter or anyone else, please review the offerings at the GSUSA convention website. Registration is now open for you to register yourself -- early registration deadline is August 31.
