2010 Girl Scout Gold Award Recipients The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest recognition earned by Girl Scouts ages 14–17. The leadership skills and sense of community and commitment developed by earning the Gold Award sets the foundation for a lifetime of active citizenship. Thirty-one Girl Scouts from across the council’s jurisdiction were awarded the prestigious Girl Scout Gold Award in May. Each recipient successfully completed the seven steps and 120 hours in leadership development, career exploration, and community involvement required to earn the Gold Award.
