Jody Shaw Hernandez,
Interim Chief Executive Officer
Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas (GSSWT) appointed Jody Shaw Hernandez to serve as Interim Chief Executive Officer effective January 10, 2015.

Prior to her appointment as Interim CEO, Jody served as the council’s Chief Operating Officer since June 2010. As COO, she worked closely with the Chief Executive Officer as a member of the council's executive team and led the strategic direction of the membership, program, outdoor education, product sales, volunteer services, information technology, retail sales and property departments and provided direction for the design, development and delivery of council program and membership efforts.
A professional Girl Scout and volunteer for many years, Jody came to San Antonio from Evansville, Indiana, where she was Director of Membership Services at Girl Scouts of Raintree Council for five years. Prior to her work in Indiana, Jody was employed as Director of Fund Development at the Girl Scout Council of Greater St. Louis. Jody holds a bachelor's degree in Social Work, as well as a Master of Public Administration and Policy Analysis from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville.
Jody also has work experience in the field of higher education, having served as Adjunct Professor, Youthful Offender Counselor, and Vice President for Campus Life at Oakland City University. Jody's professional background includes several years in the U.S. Army Reserve, for which she served as a 91 Bravo attached to a M.A.S.H. unit in St. Louis, MO, as well as to a Blackhawk Unit at Scott Air Force Base.
Jody resides in San Antonio with her husband, John and two children, Zachary (age 18) and Emily (age 14), who is a Girl Scout.
