In partnership with Edgewood Independent School District and the Westside Development Corporation, Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas signed a three-year lease to use 39,000 sq. ft., including the gym, cafeteria, green space and playground, of the former Coronado-Escobar Elementary School.

The center contributes to the economic development of the west side of San Antonio while delivering Girl Scout program to girls and adult leadership development opportunities for their families. The West Side Girl Scout Leadership Center hosts troop meetings, a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) and robotics lab, Apple MacBook Learning Lab and Girl Genius tutoring lab. Additionally, the new Girl Scout center acts as a hub for the nationally acclaimed Gamma Sigma Girls® and Gamma Sigma Pearls program, a unique leadership development series for high school- and middle school-aged girls, which focuses on advocacy, taking action and being college bound.

Camp La Jita rests on 236 acres of Texas Hill Country land along the Sabinal River, one hour and twenty minutes west of San Antonio. This council-owned camp is used for resident camping during the summer and troop camping, council program events, and training sessions during the year. Swimming facilities are available.
