Family Giving Campaign

The Family Giving campaign is specifically designed for families to have the opportunity to contribute financially to their daughter's Girl Scout leadership experience by making a personal, tax-deductible contribution to support the Girl Scout program. Each family that contributes $20 or more will receive one Family Giving campaign patch.

When you make a donation to the Family Giving campaign, 100 percent of your contribution stays in our council to support girls in the 21-county council area. Support from our families shows potential corporate donors that our members believe in the value of our organization.family-giving-patch

Friendship Circle Fund                                                                                           To Top↑

GSSWT's Friendship Circle fund helps provide resources for girls and troops who would not be able to participate in the Girl Scout Leadership Experience otherwise. We encourage troops, groups, and individuals to donate funds to be used to purchase items such as handbooks, badge books, sashes, and other uniform components for girls and troops who might not have the resources to obtain these items.

If you have a Girl Scout who needs assistance from the Friendship Circle, please complete the Friendship Circle Fund Request Form. This form must be signed by your GO Team Lead before it is submitted to the Development & Communications department.

Birdies for Charity is a fundraising program designed to give participating organizations the opportunity to generate contributions through the Valero Texas Open, scheduled for March 23-29. All donations and pledges are tax deductible andGSSWT will receive 100 percent of the dollars raised through Birdies for Charity!

GSSWT's goal is to be part of the Top 52 participating organizations, which will qualify us for additional funding opportunities. To meet the objective, pledges must be submitted by 12 noon on Tuesday, March 5

To support GSSWT through Birdies for Charity, simply make an online pledge and designate your donation to Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas. You may download a pledge form here and deliver it to the Sally Cheever Girl Scout Leadership Center (811 N. In-kind Donations                                                                                To Top↑

In-kind donations are donations that are "paid or given in goods, commodities, or services instead of money." This includes donations of actual items, labor, or gift cards -- it does not include donations made by cash or check. The rule of thumb is if you can put it in your bank account it is not an in-kind donation.

Please be sure to complete an In-kind Donation Form so that your gift can be acknowledged appropriately. Remember -- because service units and/or troops are not 501(c)(3) entities in accordance with state and federal laws, they cannot request tax-free gifts nor can they issue receipts for tax-free donations. All cash donations of $250 or more or any donations requiring a tax-exempt receipt that are received by troops or service units should be given to the council (via your GO Team) for documentation. When applicable, the council will issue a receipt and acknowledgment letter and ensure proper disbursement of the funds back to the troop or service unit.

For further questions regarding in-kind donations, please contact Janet Pedrotti (210-349-2404/1-800-580-7247 ext. 223).
