Support Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas through the 2015 Birdies for Charity program®
In 2015, GSSWT is poised to succeed with its partnership with Birdies for Charity through the annual Valero Texas Open and your help is needed to spread the word! What's a birdie, you ask?! It's a score of one stroke under par (the expected score) for any hole on the golf course.
Birdies for Charity is a fundraising program designed to give participating organizations the opportunity to generate contributions through the Valero Texas Open, scheduled for March 23-29. All donations and pledges are tax deductible and GSSWT will receive 100 percent of the dollars raised through Birdies for Charity!
GSSWT's goal is to be part of the Top 52 participating organizations, which will qualify us for additional funding opportunities. To meet the objective, pledges must be submitted by 12 noon on Tuesday, March 5.
It's easy to participate!
- Stop by GSSWT's Shop (at the Sally Cheever Girl Scout Leadership Center) and buy a birdie to fill the tree for just $1 each!
- Make a pledge of one penny or more for every birdie made during the 2015 Valero Texas Open. In 2014, a pledge for one penny per birdie equaled $17.84.
- Suggested individual donations of $20 or more.
Guess the Birdies Contest
For a little added excitement, you can participate in the Guess the Birdies Contest. If you correctly guess the number of birdies made during the tournament, you could win a Stay-and-Play Package to TPC San Antonio and JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort! Deadline to guess is Tuesday, March 24.
To support GSSWT through Birdies for Charity, simply make an online pledge and designate your donation to Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas.
