New Volunteers -- Start Here!
Girl Scouting 101
Regardless of the Girl Scout Pathway (camp, event, series, travel, troop, virtual) chosen, all new volunteers should first complete Girl Scouting 101 (current assigned password is aboutGS101).
If you do not have computer/Internet access, your Girl Scout contact can help facilitate your online learning:
- If you are unable to complete the online session prior to your GSSWT Welcome Session, come the Welcome Session anyway! You are a valuable part of our team and we will help you make arrangements to complete your online sessions.
- Utilize computers/Internet at a public library, school, community center, or at the Girl Scout Resource Center (located at the Sally Cheever Girl Scout Leadership Center).
- Arrange a meeting with your GSSWT Staff Liaison or another volunteer who can provide the technology needed.
After completing Girl Scouting 101, all new volunteers should attend:

Cancellations & Reimbursements
Courses may be cancelled if there are insufficient registrations. Fees for cancelled courses are refunded. Only those registered for a course will be notified of any changes. Fees for courses which are held but which you do not attend are forfeited. You may provide a registered Girl Scout adult for a replacement, but be sure to notify the Training Registrar 210-349-2404/1-800-580-7247 ext. 210 before the training. If you cannot attend a course for which you have paid a fee and you call the Training Registrar 24 hours prior to the course, you will have one month to reschedule and complete the course. After that time, your fee is forfeited.
Training fees are normally paid by the individual attending the training. When this is not possible, the troop may be able to cover the cost. If the troop CANNOT cover the cost, council financial assistance, for up to one-half of the course fee, is available by completing the box on the registration form. Only one person per troop can receive assistance for first aid/CPR fees; only one person per troop can receive assistance for Troop Camp Leadership fees. Troops are encouraged to cover course costs whenever possible. Persons receiving financial assistance who fail to cancel when unable to attend will not be eligible for financial assistance for the remainder of the year.
