If you like working with horses and teaching younger girls, this training is for you. During the weekend you will practice teaching saddling, bridling, feeding, handling and grooming horses. You will also get to practice teaching riding skills in the arena. There will be time for fun and a trail ride. Once you have completed the PA Horsemanship Training, you can practice your newly acquired skills working at one of the Winter Horse Camp Weekends and/or Resident Camp. Once you have completed 20 hours of service, you will earn the PA Horsemanship Patch. This camp program is for Girl Scout Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors.
Notes: Due to liability insurance limits, absolutely no tag-a-longs are permitted at this program. Girls must have completed Program Aide Core Training. All participants must be able to ride a horse with confidence at a walk, trot and canter. Participants must have trail riding experience and be able to handle their horse.
Outcomes: Girls will develop a strong sense of self and develop critical thinking. Girls will also educate and inspire others to act. (TB)
This event occurs in the America/Mexico City time zone.
