The American Red Cross (ARC) First Aid course along with the ARC Adult/Child CPR course will fulfill the requirements for a Level I First Aider. Using the current curriculum from ARC, each course is three hours in length. Certification is required in both First Aid and Adult/Child CPR to serve as a first aider, but the courses may be taken independently, depending upon the expiration date of current certifications. Each course is a combination of DVD, reading, and skill practice. Participants may be required to pass skills and multiple-choice written tests. Adult/Child CPR certification is good for two years and the First Aid certification is good for two years. NOTE: Participants wishing to re-certify may wish to register for a Challenge course.
