Travel to the beautiful Riverside Nature Center (RNC) located on the banks of the Guadalupe River in Kerrville for an exciting evening of outdoor exploration! Come have a fun and educational
experience and earn your Junior or Cadette Wildlife badge. Activities include taking a night hike along
the river, using the tools of a scientist, making a craft and learning lots about nature and wildlife! Sleep inside the climate-controlled RNC Visitor’s Center and enjoy a pizza dinner, a marshmallow roast (if conditions allow) and continental breakfast with your fellow Girl Scouts. Nature Center counselors are trained teachers and/or Texas Master Naturalists. Get ready for fun while you become a nature explorer! This event is for Girl Scout Juniors.
Dates (must attend all dates):
Fee: $15/girl or participant (includes dinner, snack, breakfast, take-home craft and Wildlife Badge)
Notes: Due to liability insurance, absolutely no tag-a-longs are permitted at this event. Please bring a sleeping bag and toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.). Shower facilities not available. Bring pajamas and appropriate clothes for being outside, hiking at night and spending the night.
Outcomes: Girls will develop a strong sense of self. As well as a positive attitude and team building skills.
