Participants must attend all days scheduled, for the session you register for. Open to Adult Volunteers and Girl Scout Seniors and Ambassadors age 15 years old and up.

The Blended Learning Lifeguard Class combines online learning with in-person skills sessions. Students who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate for Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED which is valid for 2 years.

- You must bring your certificate of completion of the online portion with you to the first day of class or you will not be able to take the water portion of the training. (either on your phone or paper copy)

- All participants must successfully complete the following prerequisites the 1st day of class. Swim test will conducted at the beginning of the class, be prepared to swim.
Successfully complete the two prerequisite swimming skills evaluations:
Prerequisite 1: Complete a swim-tread-swim sequence without stopping to rest:
*Jump into the water and totally submerge, resurface then swim 150 yards using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both. (Swimming on the back or side is not permitted. Swim goggles are allowed.)
*Maintain position at the surface of the water for 2 minutes by treading water using only the legs.
*Swim 50 yards using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both.

Prerequisite 2: Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds:
*Starting in the water, swim 20 yards. (The face may be in or out of the water. Swim goggles are not allowed.)
*Surface dive (feet-first or head-first) to a depth of 7 - 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object.
*Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point, holding the object at the surface with both hands and keeping the face out at or near the surface.
*Exit the water without using a ladder or steps.

 

 

This is a Friday through Sunday training session. Participants must attend all three sessions to become a certified lifeguard.

*Friday, 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM
*Saturday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM
*Sunday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM

There will be no full or partial refunds considered if participant does not complete all three training sessions. All three days are required to become a certified lifeguard. No exceptions will be accommodated.
