Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas partners with San Antonio’s leading organizations for the Patch Partner Program in which we offer one-of-a-kind patches designed to give girls the skills they need to thrive in a rapidly changing world. Each patch’s curriculum is aligned with the Texas Education Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) standards for public schools, taking education beyond the classroom in each patch partner’s area of expertise or social responsibility.
Boeing, the City of San Antonio, CPS Energy, H-E-B, Texas A&M San Antonio, The Tobin Endowment, Valero Energy, Wellpoint, and Wells Fargo have taken the lead in supporting Girl Scouts through these programs.
Troops and girls can earn these patches on their own, and they can also earn them on a rotating basis at Second Saturdays at the Sally Cheever Girl Scout Leadership Center. Check our Events Calendar to find the latest program.

City of San Antonio | Career Exploration
Dreaming about what you want to be when you grow up is natural, and girls need to be encouraged to dream big. The City of San Antonio (COSA) Patch Partner Program exposes girls to various career possibilities and the working world they will one day enter. They’ll learn about their local government and how professionals with different careers deliver quality services to residents every day.
Too often, a gap exists between the knowledge and skills most youth learn in school and the knowledge and skills needed in 21st-century communities and workplaces. Through this program, girls will use technology, explore college classes, and will be able to “connect the dots” between school and career paths in ways that keep them motivated to obtain the skills they need to become our future city leaders. They’ll learn about the different careers in COSA that keep our city running and vibrant as well as uncover unique skills and talents.
CPS Energy | Environmental Awareness
For today’s girls, reversing environmental threats and improving quality of life will be the work of their generation. CPS Energy’s Environmental Awareness and Energy Conservation Patch Partner Program combines environmental education and community action on a regional scale.
Through this program, girls focus on the care and conservation of our planet and better understand the important role they play in ensuring the well-being of our earth for future generations. Girls discover the connection between everyday actions and their long-term effects, and how to make those effects positive.
H-E-B | Health and Wellness
Girl Scout programs recognize that physical health, emotional health, and self-esteem are all connected. To further support the “whole girl,” H-E-B’s Health & Wellness Patch Partner Program will give girls the skills they need to keep their bodies healthy, their minds engaged, and their spirits alive. This is the first step to helping every girl attain her personal best in life!
By building strong, healthy bodies and learning problem-solving techniques, girls gain the self-confidence and skills needed to develop healthy relationships in which they give and receive the respect and trust every child seeks.
The Tobin Endowment | The Arts
The Tobin Endowment introduces girls to all forms of art with an emphasis on education as part of its Arts Patch Partner Program. It provides an in-depth view of the arts in our community and its impact on personal development. Through the encouragement of artistic expression, girls improve their self-esteem, feel motivated to explore new interests, and may even develop new talents in music, theater, dance, or visual arts.
The arts are vital to youth development and provide limitless possibilities for growth and exploration. Research shows the arts can reach students where other academic subjects cannot.
Girl Scouts who complete The Tobin Endowment Arts Patch Parter Program will develop their artistic skills and learn about the performing arts through pathways that include painting, sculpture, jazz, blues, rap, classical music, and dance.
Wells Fargo | Financial Literacy
Wells Fargo knows that girls are a part of the future of our economy and want to ensure they are confident in their financial decision making. That’s why the Wells Fargo Financial Literacy Patch Partner Program is focused on providing young girls the resources to set goals and become financially responsible, teaching vital life skills such as setting goals, budgeting, and saving.
Wells Fargo provides the online “Hands on Banking” tool to help girls become financially savvy money managers. In addition, Wells Fargo has partnered with R.I.S.E. (Raising & Inspiring Successful Entrepreneurs – A San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Program), to teach life skills that will help girls improve their financial literacy and think like entrepreneurs. Girls will seek new ways to solve problems and even turn those solutions into new products or businesses.
Texas A&M University-San Antonio | Embracing Patriotism
Texas A&M University-San Antonio is a military-embracing, higher learning institution that is committed to serving those individuals and their families who serve and have served in the armed services.
Patriotism or national pride is the ideology of love and devotion to a homeland and a sense of alliance with other citizens who share the same values.
Girls who participate in the Texas A&M Embracing Patriotism Patch Partner Program can proudly state they have pledged to honor and dedicate themselves to their country and learned the values of commitment, respect, honor, courage, and excellence.
Valero Energy | STEM
Valero Energy’s STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) Patch Partner Program focuses on what girls need to thrive in a rapidly changing world. The nation’s need for STEM professionals—especially those who are women—is ever-growing, and Valero’s STEM program will encourage girls to push boundaries, test limits, and look at the world through inquisitive eyes.
Whether they’re building a robot, learning the needs of a car’s engine, or creating a chemical reaction, girls are moving forward into the future.
Wellpoint | Bullying Prevention
