What will you do next? Sleep under the stars? Design your own app? Plant a community garden? As a Girl Scout there are hundreds of ways for you to discover something new or take your current passion to the next level.
And badges, Journeys, and awards show the world your accomplishments.
Updates are on the horizon.
Journeys will officially be retired on October 1, 2026, to make way for an exciting new leadership exploration path: the Leadership Awards. These awards offer more flexible, interest-based ways for Girl Scouts to build their leadership skills—whether they’re leading themselves, their team, or their community.
Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas Council Patch programs are unique to the Southwest Texas council and are written thinking on our future leaders: our girls. These patch programs provide the opportunity to explore topics beyond those in the handbooks and other GSUSA resources.
Copies of the patch requirements are available below and in the Resource Center at the Sally Cheever Leadership Center, and the patches can be purchased in the center’s Girl Scout Shop.
If you are in a different Girl Scout council and would like to purchase one of these patches, please email our Customer Care Department at customercare@girlscouts-swtx.org.
Introducing fresh ways for Girl Scouts to lead with confidence, mentor others, work as a team, and take action in their communities. They’re also a prerequisite for the Highest Awards.
