Participants must attend all days scheduled, for the session you
register for. Open to Adult Volunteers and Girl Scout Seniors and
Ambassadors age 15 years old and up. Adult members must have a clear
background check.
The Blended Learning Lifeguard Class
combines online learning with in-person skills sessions. Students who
successfully complete this course will receive a certificate for
Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED, which is valid for 2 years.

You must complete the online portion prior to the first day of class;
allow at least 7 hours to complete the online module. Use the Blended

- You must bring your certificate of completion of the online portion
with you (either on your phone or paper copy) to the first day of
class or you will not be able to take the water portion of the
training.
- All participants must successfully complete the
following prerequisites the first day of class. Swim test will
conducted at the beginning of the class.
Prerequisite 1:
Complete a swim-tread-swim sequence without stopping to rest:
*Jump into the water and totally submerge, resurface, then swim 150
yards using the front crawl, breaststroke, or a combination of both.
(Swimming on the back or side is not permitted. Swim goggles are
allowed.)
*Maintain position at the surface of the water for 2
minutes by treading water using only the legs.
*Swim 50 yards
using the front crawl, breaststroke, or a combination of both.
Prerequisite 2: Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40
seconds:
*Starting in the water, swim 20 yards. (The face may be
in or out of the water. Swim goggles are not allowed.)
*Surface
dive (feet-first or head-first) to a depth of 7-10 feet to retrieve a
10-pound object.
*Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the
back to return to the starting point, holding the object at the
surface with both hands and keeping the face out at or near the
surface.
*Exit the water without using a ladder or steps.
This is a Monday-Thursday training session. Participants must
attend all sessions to become a certified lifeguard.

*Tuesday, 9:30 a.m.-5:30
p.m.
*Wednesday, 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
*Thursday, 9:30
a.m.-12:30 p.m.
There will be no full or partial refunds
considered if participant does not complete all three training
sessions. All days are required to become a certified lifeguard. No
exceptions will be accommodated. Room and board provided at
camp.
