Outdoor experiences allow girls to discover their strengths and skills, connect with their environment, and take action to make the world a better place. Each troop needs one adult who is Troop Camp Leadership (TCL) certified to take girls camping. Men and women age 18 and older are eligible but must have a current Girl Scout membership and cleared background check on file with Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas.
This two-part blended learning course includes an online portion in gsLearn and an in-person skills session (overnight campout) at a location to be determined. The online Troop Camp Leadership module in gsLearn should be completed prior to class, including two knowledge checks with passing grades of 80% and above on both.
Please note: This is an overnight program to complete an in-person skills check; it provides basic information to take your troop camping. Food will be provided; let us know if you have any special dietary needs.
