Volunteer Conflict: When It's Leader vs Leader is an engaging and solution-focused training that helps volunteers understand the root causes of conflict and develop the skills needed to navigate challenging situations with professionalism and confidence. Participants will explore common volunteer conflict scenarios, communication pitfalls, emotional triggers, and strategies for handling disagreements before they escalate into larger issues.
This session will cover:
Identifying the difference between healthy disagreement and harmful conflict.
Understanding how communication styles impact volunteer relationships.
Techniques for de-escalating emotionally charged situations.
Setting boundaries while maintaining professionalism.
Managing gossip, misunderstandings, and group tension.
Refocusing conversations on the Girl Scout mission and girl experience.
Knowing when and how to involve council staff for support.
Through real-world examples, interactive discussion, and practical tools, volunteers will leave feeling more prepared to handle difficult dynamics without losing sight of teamwork, respect, and collaboration.
