Girls in grades 7-12 have the ability to learn how to sail various vessels on an area lake. All girls get to participate in special projects, campfires, learning songs, and playing in the lake.
We have two sessions for girls of all experience levels:
Calling all Skippers and Mates! Set sail for an exciting Sailing Day and reunite with your fellow sailors on the water. Join us at Boerne Lake for a full day of adventure, teamwork, and wind-powered fun. Put your sailing skills to the test as you navigate the lake, trim sails, and enjoy the thrill of being back on the water. Whether you're an experienced sailor or just love the breeze and the boats, this is the perfect day to connect, sail, and make waves with friends old and new. Lunch and afternoon snack is included.
Prerequisites: Must have attended sailing camp in June 2025 and be classified as Skipper or Mate.
Join us as we sail Sunfish sailboats around the lake. As a beginner (Novice) or Mate (after one year of GSSWT Sailing Camp) you will learn techniques used by sailors around the world. With the help of your fellow Girl Scouts, you will rig, de-rig, and learn how to use the wind to sail. You will gain skills to sail a Sunfish around the lake. You will participate in art projects, campfires, and sing our favorite songs. And of course, playing in the lake is always on the schedule.
